Most of the headsets for radios are only available with Icom, Motorola or Kenwood plugs. They will not fit the Midland G7, but the Icom Plug can me modified to do so.
You only have to solder a resistor (1.9k - 2.3k) between the ground and mic+. Also you might want to add an o-ring as a spacer to the 3.5mm, because the midland uses 3.5mm stereo while the Icom plug is only mono.
So for Midlands you can use pretty much any speaker/mic if you wire that resistor between gnd and mic+:
